How Integrations Work

Overview

Once you connect an integration, Proposal.biz establishes a live connection with the third-party platform and begins syncing data into your workspace. This article explains what happens after you connect and how data flows between Proposal.biz and your connected tools.

The Connection Flow

Every integration on Proposal.biz follows the same core flow:

  1. Select the integration you want to connect from the Integrations page

  2. Review the integration details and click Connect

  3. Authorize the connection using your preferred method — OAuth 2.0, API Key, or HTTP Authentication

  4. Once connected, map the fields from your third-party platform to Proposal.biz variables

  5. Configure your sync settings

  6. Your integration is live and data starts flowing into your workspace

Variable Mapping

After connecting a CRM integration such as HubSpot, you can map fields from your CRM directly to variables in Proposal.biz. This means when you create a document for a specific contact or deal, the mapped fields are automatically populated eliminating manual data entry and reducing errors.

Sync Settings

You can control how and when data syncs between Proposal.biz and your connected platform including sync frequency and which data objects to include.

Credential Management

Your connection credentials are stored securely in Proposal.biz. You can review, update, or revoke your credentials at any time from the integration settings without needing to fully disconnect and reconnect.

Managing a Connected Integration

Once an integration is connected you can:

  • Edit credentials — Update your connection credentials if they change

  • Update variable mapping — Adjust how fields are mapped between platforms

  • Change sync settings — Modify how frequently data syncs

  • Disconnect — Remove the integration from your workspace
