Custom Domain

Overview

Proposal.biz allows you to set up a custom subdomain for your workspace so that all your shared documents are served from your own branded URL instead of the default Proposal.biz domain. This gives your documents a more professional and consistent brand experience for your recipients.

Accessing Custom Domain Settings

1. Go to Settings in the left sidebar

2. Click Custom Domain

Setting Up Your Custom Subdomain

Setting up your custom subdomain is a 3-step process:

Step 1: Enter Your Subdomain

1. Enter your desired subdomain in the field provided

2. Your full custom URL will be displayed as a preview as you type

3. Click Continue to proceed

Step 2: Configure Your DNS Settings

1. Log in to your domain registrar or DNS provider

2. Add the DNS records shown on screen to your domain settings

3. Once your DNS records are added click Verify to confirm the configuration

Note DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate depending on your domain provider. If verification fails, wait a little longer and try again.

Step 3: Confirm Your Custom Domain

1. Once verification is successful your custom subdomain will be activated

2. All your shared document links will now use your custom subdomain

💡 Pro Tip Use a subdomain that reflects your brand for example proposals.yourcompany.com or docs.yourcompany.com. This makes your shared document links look professional and builds trust with recipients before they even open the document.

Updating or Removing Your Custom Domain

If you need to change or remove your custom subdomain at any point:

1. Go to Settings → Custom Domain

2. Click Edit to update your subdomain or Remove to revert to the default Proposal.biz domain

3. Confirm your changes
